If you want people to use products that are good for the environment it is reasonable to charge within reason. almost $40 is not reasonable!!! No matter how good they are. The message is green for the rich.

I've tried them all, Cascade, Finish, various store brands, and all of them leave a white, smokey film on glasses and dishware. I don't pre-wash my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, I do rinse off the big bits, but they go in dirty like they're meant to. If we were required to hand wash them before putting them in, what is the point of an automatic dishwasher. The above brands never cleaned everything off, they'd leave greasy bits behind. But not Ecover dishwasher tablets; they clean the dishes to a spotless sheen, there is no smokey residue left on clear glassware, and they're better for the environment in the long run as they're phosphorus free.

I purchased this product because the discription of the product indicated that it has phosphate salts in it, which helps prevent a film being left on the dishes. However, when the product was received it was the newer formula without phosphate. Needless to say I was not happy but Amazon made it right with a no hassle refund, thank you very much.
You might want to update the description though because it still shows phosphate salts when clearly they are no longer in the product.

So far so good. My spouse typically takes advantage of every utensil and cooking device in our kitchen on a regular basis, and we like to have people over, which leaves a messy kitchen at the end of the night. Cascade Complete has so far gotten every load of dishes clean and left no residue or water spots, which knocks about an hour off of my cleanup time.

The Citrus Breeze variety cleans as well as any other Cascade Complete product I've used, but the Citrus Breeze smell lingers on the dishes even after the wash, and I think it even interferes with food taste in some dishes. Definitely not desirable, and a little scary.
Using a smaller amount helps, but does not eliminate the odor.

I used it for the first time today, and it definitely works as it says it will. For whatever reason, it seems to prevent those food and detergent deposits that the dishwasher sometimes leaves behind on the glasses and such. Definitely worth the money, but it really is cheaper in the stores.
